Spen Valley Scout & Guide Band is a Member of TYMBA

 The Traditional Youth Marching Bands Association was formed in 1983 by a few like minded friends who felt the need for an organisation to cater
specifically for youth bands, which project a
traditional British image and adopt a British Military style of drill.

  Its objectives are:

To advance the education and training of young people and their leaders in all aspects of traditional banding.

To stimulate public awareness, appreciation and
enjoyment of traditional banding.

To bring together member bands and undertake the performance of marching band music for the
enjoyment of the public.
